It had to end. I couldn't stand it anymore. Plus, Mama and I had formed a plan.

The entire way home, no one said anything. Mama acted like she hadn't noticed.

When we got home, we walked inside, there was a mountain of presents glimmering in front of us, and a cake.

"Happy, Birthday, Felicity!" Mama yelled.

Felicity should have been surprised. She should have gone, "Oh my gosh! You guys planned this for me?" And Lizzy would have said, "Of course we did!" and the fight would be over.

WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED:

Felicity looked shocked for a moment, then she whirrled on Lizzy.

"Don't even try to tell me you planned this, because no one as untrustworthy as you could!" she yelled. Lizzy looked even more surprised than ever.

"You-you-" There was a scary moment where Lizzy was at loss for words. Then she regained her wordiness and screamed, "I can't believe I used to call you my sister! You're not my sister, you are a brat who doesn't appreciate what others do for you! Do you know how hard I worked to plan that party? Thistle and I used all of our money for the cake! And what do you say? 'I can't believe you guys forgot my birthday, even though you worked so hard for it to be special!'"

And then, the room exploded. It was a shouting fest, both of them trying to be louder than the other. I couldn't take it! It needed to stop!

I covered my ears and screamed, "STOP!!!!!" And you know what? They listened. They both stopped shouting and turned to look at me with surprise shining in their eyes. There were tears in my eyes as I said, "i can't believe you two are so selfish that you can't just forgive each other!"

Without waiting for them to answer, I raced up to our room (which wasn't set up yet) and collapsed onto the floor sobbing.

I don't know how long I was there, but it felt like a long time before the door creaked open and I heard Lizzy's soft, "Thistle?"

"I don't want to talk to you!" I chocked through my tears.

"But you were right," she said. "Felicity and I were both being selfish brats not to realize how upset our fighting was making you. It's okay, Amythest. We made up. We're all sisters again."

I sat up slowly and turned to face her. "Sisters?" I asked hoarsely.

Lizzy grinned at me as Felicity appeared behind her. "Forever," she promised.

No, I'm not in my fight. But I am in the middle of one.

I'm a little crammed on time, so I might have to spread this into a few posts.

So, anyway, it all started because of Felicity's birthday. It was today. See, Lizzy and I had an entire thing planned out-a surprise party, to be exact. Part of our plan was to pretent like we'd forgotten Felicity's birthday altogether.

At first, Felicity didn't seem to notice. Then she kept getting really agitated and storming out of the room, and Lizzy and I would exchange a glance as if to say, "Our plan's working!"

The surprise party was supposed to be tomorrow. But today, we were still playing the whole, "We Forgot" thing.

It was during Homework Time that it happened. Lizzy and I got to our dorm first, so we started on our homework while talking about the party under our breath. We were suddenly interrupted when Felicity stormed in.

"I can't believe it!" she yelled. "I thought maybe you were pretending, but NO. You actually forgot!"

I was too shocked to say anything for a moment. But then I recovered and said, "Forgot what?"

Felicity whirrled to face me. But then she saw me, the poor innocent little sister, and her face softened.

"I don't really care about you," she said, still an edge to her voice. "I mean, you probably wouldn't know, since you're new and we never told you. But you!" Felicity turned and stalked to Lizzy. "You, of all people! You never forgot! Ever! We were as close as ever, never separated, and you FORGOT!"

Lizzy's face was white. She took a deep breath.

"Felicity, you don't-"

"I don't what?!" Felicity screeched. "I don't understand? I understand perfectly! You forgot my BIRTHDAY. The most important day of my life, and you FORGOT IT!"

I tried to step in. I really did. I didn't want Felicity to be angry, even if it meant ruining the surprise of tomorrow.

"Felicity, we didn't-" I began, but I never got to finish, because Felicity cut me off.

"Stay out of this, Amythest!" she yelled, and I stumbled back in shock. Felicity never yelled at me like that. She always protected me, always looked out for me. But she never yelled at me.

By now, Felicity had turned back to Lizzy.

"You never forgot my birthday!" she screamed. "And I never forgot yours. I can't believe it! Maybe you should take a look at a calendar once in a while!"

Lizzy's face was pearly white. There was a long pause where no one said anything as Felicity took a deep breath. You could tell she was going to say something else, but she never got to.

"No," Lizzy said quietly, then a little louder, "No! Felicity, how could you think I forgot your birthday? You're my sister! I even told Thistle about it. I can't believe you would accuse me of something! Do you remember when we were really little, before Thistle got here? You and I promised each other that we would never yell at each other for anything. Can you hear yourself, Felicity? Can you?"

I was even more shocked. My mouth had dropped open. Lizzy never yelled at anyone, never insulted anyone.

"The crazy thing is that you actually think that I would forget!" Lizzy yelled. "But of course I didn't! Would you forget my birthday? I didn't think so! If you would have just waited until tomorrow, then this would have never happened! Do you know why, Felicity? Because there was going to be a surprise party! All of our friends were going to come. But I guess that's going to have to be canceled." Lizzy drew in a deep breath, staring strait at Felicity. "Because you obviously don't want a party arranged by a sister who forgot your birthday. And I guess I had better return the cake, too."

And, with that, Lizzy stormed out. Felicity was white.

"Was there really going to be a surprise party tomorrow?" she asked hoarsely.

"Yes," I replied quietly. "Yes there was."
